A Message from Principal Maureen Daurio.....
Service,
Warmest Winter Greetings to All,
Each school year we look in excitement toward the one week we are able to showcase our pride in who we are as a Catholic school Community.
Catholic Schools Weeks kicks off on Saturday January 28th with the 4:00 pm Mass. Mass will be followed by our annual Spaghetti Dinner & Talent Show. Many of our students have been working on preparing their act for the show and it is always a wonderful opportunity for us to gather as a school community for liturgy, a meal and entertainment.
On Sunday January 29th we will celebrate a second Catholic Schools Week mass followed by an Open House at SMA from 10:00 am to 12 pm. The Open House is open to all perspective students and their families. Please be sure to invite family, friends and neighbors who may be interested in joining the SMA family. Any family that refers a newly registering family for the 2012-2013 school year will receive a $100 credit on their tuition.
On Tuesday January 31st our Learning Fair will be held in the gym from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All are welcome and I know that you will be amazed at all of the projects that our students have been diligently working on. Our 5th graders will also be visiting the Ronald McDonald House to to volunteer for the day.
On Wednesday February 1st, a local gymnastics troupe will be entertaining our
students at 1:00. All are welcome.
On Thursday February 2nd at 1:00 we will hold our first Annual Academic Olympiad at 1:00 pm in the gym. All are welcome.
Friday February 3rd is School Spirit Day. The festivities begin at 9:00 with our Fruits of the Spirit Awards Ceremony. The Pep Rally and Hat Contest will be held at 9:30 followed at 10:00 by our Faculty/Adult vs. 7th & 8th grade basketball game. This is always a fun-filled day. Report cards will be distributed prior to our 11:30 dismissal.
Also, be sure to visit our student's art work that is being displayed at the Empire State Plaza Monday, January 30th through Friday February 3rd.
Blessings,
Maureen
